What Is VOLUMA?
Losing volume in the cheeks is a common age-related occurrence that causes people to look haggard and older than their years. Now, lost volume can be restored with injections of Voluma, a facial filler that both lifts and contours cheeks. Inland Empire board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Childers, and our aestheticians will inject the filler into a patient's mid-face to provide plumper, more youthful looking cheeks. Not only are cheeks restored without surgery and downtime, but results can last up to 2 years. When patients receive additional treatments, less product is needed to obtain optimal results.
How Does VOLUMA Work?
Using a thin syringe, the cosmetic surgeon injects Voluma into the apex, apple and hollow of the patient’s cheek. Results are immediate, and can last up to 2 years. Side effects are considered mild to moderate, and can last between 2 and 4 weeks. The most common side effects are tenderness, swelling, firmness, bumps, bruising, redness, itching or discoloration at the injection site.

I was born with a deviated septum and because of this, it is near impossible for me to breathe out of my nose. Well, as of today, that is no longer the case! I have been to three different ENT Doctors, all of whom did not want to operate to help me breathe saying my nose was "really messed up". After an initial nose surgery 3 years ago with a doubting surgeon that surgery could work, nothing changed. Then finally coming to see Dr. Childers, he seemed confident that he could help, and he did! Thank you Dr. Childers for your willingness to try and give me a functioning nose! An outstanding surgeon!

VOLUMA FAQ
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
This is a naturally occurring substance that helps bind water to cells. Its cross-linking abilities help provide lifting capacity, which restores volume in the cheeks and mid-face.
Best Candidate?
The plastic surgeon will help you create a unique treatment plan during your consultation. With extensive experience in a wide array of different fillers and relaxers, the cosmetic surgeon may include a combination of different fillers and techniques to achieve the desired results.
Any Downtime?
There is no downtime after a Voluma treatment. Patients can return to their normal activities, but it is suggested that patients avoid strenuous activities for the first 24 hours after any injectable filler treatments.
Lasting Results?
The results can be seen immediately, and can last up to 2 years. The duration of the results depends on the area being treated, and the rate the patient’s tissue breaks down the filler.
